Babble Summer Film Guide 2008

This summer, three film trends are apparent: cute animated creatures traveling into space; broody, conflicted superheroes; and a glut of sequels and remakes. We have high hopes for a few of these, but no one knows what your kid likes better than you. Here are some CliffsNotes to help you out.

Fly Me to the Moon

IN 10 WORDS: Houseflies sneak aboard the Apollo 11 in shabby-looking 3D.

TAKE THE KIDS IF: They're fans of the CG-insect genre (A Bug's Life, Bee Movie, etc.)

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

RATING: Not yet rated. Probably PG.
STARRING: Mystery people!
IN 10 WORDS: Animated Star Wars prequel, to be followed by TV series.

TAKE THE KIDS IF: The last three Star Wars prequels didn't kill your soul.
