It's something I find myself saying more and more often these days. I mean, I knew the time would come. I've even been through it before -- I just somehow must have blocked out this stage where you don't want it to be cropped so short any more, and yet the stages in between pixie and long-in-front tousled pixie (I don't know, are their actual names for all these cuts?) are really really unappealing.

I didn't realize that Christmas involved so many lies. Not having been raised with it myself, I didn't know what to expect when my husband and started to plant traditions for our now four year old. And while this year I had initially thought that I could be all "you behave, you earn gifts" and that that would totally fly with Dee.
