I remember as a kid I used to think teachers were solely here for the purpose of teaching. It was a foreign concept to me to think of them as “real people” with a real life where they actually left the classroom for a couple of hours or heaven forbid a weekend. Because of this, as a kid I came to my own conclusion that giving them a bright red apple for a gift obviously meant an easy A. Wrong and wrong.
