Baking Our Holiday Neighbor GiftsMarie LeBaron
The holidays are such a great time to get baking in the kitchen. Today we’re making these fun holiday shaped bread treats. These are a treat I’ve been making ever since I was a little girl. My mom and I would roll the dough into little balls and form them into trees and wreaths. Then once they were baked and decorated, I remember taking them to my school friends as gifts for the holidays.
I wanted to share this tradition of holiday baking with my girls. They are always right at the ready when we’ve got something fun to bake. And we’ve got a few friends and neighbors that are going to love receiving these baked goodies!
Keep reading to see what fun shapes we created!
We used Pillsbury breadsticks to make our shapes. Simply pull apart a piece of dough, about 1-2 inches in diameter, and roll it into a ball.
Once you have all your balls made, form them into holiday shapes onto your baking sheet. We made a wreath, candy cane, tree, and a star. Then into the oven they went.
Once these treats are cooled, spread white frosting on top all over and place on a few chocolate candies for color. Mmmm. These are so good. We made a few for ourselves as well, we had to test them out and make sure they were good 😉 Then add them to a paper plate and cover them with plastic wrap or tinfoil. Add a bow or some ribbon and you’ve got yourself a perfect little neighbor gift!
