Best DIY Projects of the Week
By Melanie Blodgett |

I would like to try out one of these projects this weekend (did you know you can make your own skinny leather belt?) but I think my time will be occupied by giving birth. Oh well, you win some you lose some. Have a happy one and make something for me!

Toy Grill
I already told my husband he needs to make this for our son (expected this weekend!) for next summer.

Neon Polka Dotted Favors
Probably the easiest DIY of the week but one of the cutest.

Mini Leather Belt
Whoa, did you know you can make your own skinny leather belt? Awesome.

Cord Basket
I've said it once, I've said it a hundred times - I need to learn how to sew!

Card File
This definitely fooled me into thinking it was an antique piece but really it's an IKEA hack.

Dipped Table
I've probably walked past this IKEA table hundreds of times and never thought twice about it. Slap on a coat of paint and I want to go out and buy it now!

Fiesta Garland
Just in time for Cinco de Mayo! Festive and cute.

Colorblock Pot
Take a ho-hum pot and kick it up a notch. Even if your plant is dead, it will look pretty.

Triangle Banner
And I didn't think I could come across a type of garland I haven't seen.

Flower Crown
I have no idea what occasion would allow me to wear a flower crown but this is so pretty. Maybe a trip to the playground?

Flower Poppers
These popper corsages would add some fun to your wedding.

Terrarium
I really need to get on making one of these. I love what some greenery can do to a room.

Herb Favor
A cute monogram cup and some herbs would make a great teacher gift.

Antler Hanger
After seeing this project I've become convinced I need to jump on the antler trend.

Plaster Letter
I like that you can customize this project to the exact size you want. I'm thinking of making a ginormous B.
