After last week’s turkey performance, I had to redeem myself. Crafting along with Martha Stewart’s recently released book Handmade Holiday Crafts has been, well, not always easy. If you are a cocky crafter like me (and a messy one like me), then you might want to take on this same challenge. You will be forced out of your crafty comfort zone, and that is a good thing.
This week’s craft was Martha’s leaf napkin rings. I took on this task because a) I think they are genius, b) I have tons of scrapbook paper and c) I needed something simple to impress you. I’m also happy with this project because it’s really as easy as it seems — and you can make these today (or even tomorrow morning) for your Thanksgiving table. That is how quick the project is. My version is above, and if you are wondering why I took the picture on concrete, it’s because I couldn’t get good lighting inside my apartment. I’m not having Thanksgiving dinner outside on my walkway. Do you want to see more about the project (and Martha’s version)? Click through the jump!
The picture is better than mine, but the goal is the same. I’m so proud of myself! It’s a small win, but at this point it’s what I need to feel good about my crafting. Sometimes it’s the simplest projects that turn out the best. And I really love these, because what a perfect addition to a holiday party . . . what would you think about a Christmas tree version? Take a peek at the steps below.
