DIY Home Repairs to Save You Money

It didn’t take us long, as home owners, to figure out that we needed to learn to be handymen too. Plumbers, electricians, painters — you’ll pay a pretty penny for their expertise. Thanks to Liquid Plumr’s Tool School, you can learn a little of it for yourself!

With a basic toolkit and a little knowledge, the hubby and I have fixed toilets, installed lighting, repaired appliances, and kept a lot of money in our pocket. Tool School features “Toolbelt Diva” Norma Vally, sharing tips for common household fixes that can save you hundreds of dollars. The series provides DIY instructions and Tool School videos for the kitchen and bath.

Of course, doing your own home repairs will save on expensive service calls. But, there are a lot of simple repairs and home improvements that will lower your monthly expenses too. Check out these simple DIY projects that will save you money, then learn how you can win a home repair prize pack from Liquid Plumr:

When our dryer started fading, someone suggested cleaning out the dryer duct. Um, wow. There's so much that can get into the vent tube, the duct work, and the dryer itself. We found a bird's nest in our dryer duct. True story. Cleaning it ourselves saved over $100 in service fees, plus the clothes are dry in half the time.
