Weekend Fun: Make Sidewalk Chalk Paint

DIY sidewalk chalk paint from Babble.com

I love this idea for the long holiday weekend! Before the weather turns cool, enjoy an afternoon outside in the sunshine with a little sidewalk chalk painting! It’s super easy to make and sure to spark hours of imagination and creativity. This is about as budget-friendly and carefree as a summer afternoon can get. Ready to get your paint on with the kiddos? Here’s how to do it…

Supplies –

  • 1 cup of cornstarch
  • 1 cup of water
  • gel food coloring
  • muffin tin, jars or other small containers
  • paint brushes

Combine cornstarch and water until the cornstarch is dissolved. Split equally into muffin tins or little jars. Add food coloring to each jar to make your colors of choice. Add more or less food coloring to make the colors brighter and darker. Bust out the paintbrushes and start doodling! It’s that easy. Happy weekend!
