Halloween Flower Pots

Halloween Flower Pots:

Here is one fun project with three versions to accommodate children ages 0-2, 3-4, and 5-7. They’ll find their “green thumbs” in more ways than one with these silly and multi- purposeful pots.

Supplies:

Terra cotta flower pot, tempera paint (or DecoArt patio paints), paint brushes, scissors, glue, and:

A. (0-2 year olds) – self-adhesive craft foam, green pompom

B. (3-4 year olds) – card stock paper

C. (5-7 year olds) – egg carton, 2 ping-pong balls, wood dowel and marble

A. How to:

Step 1: Paint flower pot orange.

Step 2: After paint is dry, take the craft foam and cut out eyes, nose, and mouth.

Step 3: Place the eyes, nose, and mouth where desired, then glue pompom on top.

B. How to:

Step 1: Paint inside and outer rim of flower pot green (or choose any color you like).

Step 2: Paint outside with black.

Step 3: Take the card stock paper and cut out a 2″ wide pumpkin, then place on pot and fill in with orange.

Step 4: Add stems, face, and polka-dots with any color you’d like.

Step 5: Decorate with painted spiders, candy corn, ghosts, etc.

C. How to:

Step 1: Place pot upside-down on newspaper.

Step 2: Pumpkin-take egg carton and cut out middle “nub” and glue to top.

Step 3: Robot-take egg carton and cut out “eye space” using two egg spaces (cut as one unit) and glue to front.

Step 4: Glue dowel into hole in pot, glue marble on top.

Step 5: Glue ping-pong balls inside “eye space”.

Step 6: Paint as desired.
