Free Comic Book Day 2012

Free Comic Book Day happens every year on the 1st Saturday in May, and tomorrow marks the 10th anniversary! Comic book stores around the world will be giving away free comics all day long.

This event was created to celebrate independent comic book stores — you won’t find this deal at big box retailers. Some locations will even have special events and comic creators in the store.

The girls love to hit up the comic book store with the hubby to pick out their free comic. Every person who walks into participating comic book stores on May 5th can choose one free comic from a selection of special offers.

This year there are over 40 comic books available with this offer — including several comics perfect for kids. I’m guessing the youngest will either choose Yo Gabba Gabba or Smurfs. It’s always interesting to see what catches their eye.

Visit FreeComicBookDay.com to find a participating store near you.
