Organize and Add Color to A Closet with Paint!

Getting organized is my goal for 2012. And since I am not a naturally organized person, it has been tricky. One way that I have found that makes getting organized easier has been to make my spaces pretty as well as organized.

I decided to turn a small coat closet into a cleaning closet.  And to make it pretty I added stripes! I headed over to Home Depot and picked up Martha Stewart’s Arucana Teal paint.

Find out how to add some pizzazz to YOUR closet after the break!

I measured the closet and taped it off with painter’s tape, making sure to seal the edges with my fingers so no paint would seep underneath.

Then I painted the stripes with two coats of paint.

After the paint dried, I peeled off the tape and voila — a festive, striped closet.

Then I put some new metal shelves in and I also labeled Sterilight Storage Bins I also found at Home Depot.

Now I want to leave the door open to my cleaning closet so everyone can see how pretty it is!!

Do YOU love organizing? What are YOUR tips for keeping your home organized?? Leave them in the comments – we would love to know!!
