Jazz Up Back-To-School Lunch!

I have a couple of picky eaters at my house. They insist on bringing their own lunch to school every single day. But PB&J gets a little old after 100+ times.

So I thought it might be fun to make a Peanut Butter Sandwich and then put some toppings in Ziploc bags. That way, when lunchtime hits, they can add whatever toppings they want. It’s fun to combine different toppings for a different sandwich every time! And if they don’t use the toppings on their sandwich, they can eat them as a special treat on the side.

I am hoping this will spice up their lunches this year. And the possibilities are endless for toppings. I used fruit loops, blueberries and mini chocolate chips this time. I also love that by keeping the topping separated, they don’t become soggy like they would if I made them up together the night before.

I’m excited for school to start so I can try out these new PB&J plus topping lunch ideas!

And in case you are wondering about sustainability, I can reuse these bags. I can just ask my kids to bring them home. All you have to do is wash them out and let them air dry. Here’s an article by The Greenest Dollar on how to reuse Ziploc bags.

What toppings would your kids love on their PB&J’s?? Let us know in the comments!

A big thanks to Ziploc for sponsoring this campaign. Click here to see more of the discussion.
