Easy Kids Crafts: Stylish Stamping

Stamp your own T-shirt like Alexander Girard.

Stamp sharp geometric shapes like Alexander Girard, or create your very own! Custom fabric and T-shirt designs are simple to make, just use makeup sponges and textile paint.

You will need:

  • Aluminum foil
  • Cardboard
  • 100% Cotton T-shirt
  • Fabric paints
  • Makeup sponges
  • Paper plates
  • White glue

    To make the stamp, cut a rectangle of cardboard and glue the makeup sponge down in the middle.

    You can cut the sponges into any shape you like. This stamp looks like a bow tie.

    Pour a little of your fabric paint onto a paper plate. Use scrap cardboard to smear an even layer of paint all the way to the edge of the plate.

    Place your stamp into the paint and press down lightly to make sure your sponge is covered evenly.

    Place foil inside the shirt to avoid the paint soaking through and start stamping! Let dry, following the paint’s setting instructions.
