Easy Kids Crafts: Stylish Stamping
Stamp your own T-shirt like Alexander Girard.
by Todd Oldham | October 21, 2011
Stamp sharp geometric shapes like Alexander Girard, or create your very own! Custom fabric and T-shirt designs are simple to make, just use makeup sponges and textile paint.
You will need:
- Aluminum foil
- Cardboard
- 100% Cotton T-shirt
- Fabric paints
- Makeup sponges
- Paper plates
- White glue
-
To make the stamp, cut a rectangle of cardboard and glue the makeup sponge down in the middle.
-
You can cut the sponges into any shape you like. This stamp looks like a bow tie.
-
Pour a little of your fabric paint onto a paper plate. Use scrap cardboard to smear an even layer of paint all the way to the edge of the plate.
-
Place your stamp into the paint and press down lightly to make sure your sponge is covered evenly.
-
Place foil inside the shirt to avoid the paint soaking through and start stamping! Let dry, following the paint’s setting instructions.
