Top 50 Mom Craft Blogs, 2012
We've updated the list: To view 2013's Top 50 Mom Craft Blogs, click here!
Who isn't something of a DIY enthusiast these days? Whether your interest (and aptitude) is more Martha Stewart (the queen of "from scratch") or Sandra Lee (the princess of "semi-homemade"), Babble's 2012 list of the 50 best mom craft blogs has something for everyone. DIY doesn't just give you inner satisfaction; it can save you money on everything from your children's wardrobes to baby shower gifts, all while making them that much more special. Plus, you don't have to be Mary Poppins to realize that DIY can take a rainy day on a weekend or during a school vacation from drab to fab.
This is Babble's second annual compilation of the craftiest blogs on the block. In addition to recommending their favorite sites, our panel of industry insiders and craft lovers looked at last year's winning list and reader nominations and painstakingly narrowed down the abundance of talent to 50 total winners for 2012. (It was no easy feat!) Winners are organized in the following categories: Best DIY Projects, Overall Presentation, Best Projects for Parents, Best for Kids, and Most Beautiful (based on the quality and creativity of the pages and photography). If you see something else inspiring out there on the inter-webs we've missed, by all means nominate it here. Get ready, get set .... get creative! - Amy Levin Epstein

Centsational Girl | Kate Riley

The What’s What: This is one blog that makes cents to read (sorry, had to go there). Kate Riley takes vintage, thrift-store finds and transforms them into modern and unique pieces that can be enjoyed for years to come. If your home needs a little spring facelift, just take a look at what Kate did last year with a few wooden fish, birch branches, and a beachy painting she found in an antique store.
The Mama: Kate Riley might have started out as a lawyer, but she’s doesn’t have to argue very hard to get people to read her budget-friendly blog. A member of True Value’s DIY Blog Squad, she lives in Northern California’s Wine Country, making her family of five live green (in both senses of the word). Her biggest DIY project? Restoring her house while the family’s still living in it!

You are still a mama, that’s what you are. I would bet the farm that that beautiful baby girl inside of you will have Henry’s beauty inside of her. She will be what gets you up every morning. She will be what makes you understand life now. Focus on her and your other beautiful children. HUGS to you.
Dear Babble friends on FB. We created a line of violins, geared to bring smiles to children’s faces and believe playing music shouldn’t have the same kind of experience of being made to eat Spinach! Please check us out online and feel free to drop us a line. Thank you! R
