Missoni For Target: How Did You Do?

Well, shoot. I can’t have been the only poor fool up every hour from midnight on to check the Target website for the release of the new Missoni for Target items last night, can I be? And what do I have to show for it?

Around 11:30 last night I started seeing updates on my Twitter feed that the Missoni items were being loaded slower than anticipated and would be released to the general public at 6AM. And then what happened? Right at 6: general pandemonium, the Target website overloaded from the demand, and the throw I wanted, that beautiful blessed throw going for just $40, sold out immediately and now bids for them on eBay are soaring to the $200 mark.

Yikes!

As of now I still do not have my dishware, I still do not have my throw, and I still do not have the set of scarves I’ve been eyeing for weeks now in the preview. Woe is me!

I figured there are probably many of us with similar stories; missed throw opportunities, foiled ballerina flats escapades, tales of battle scars from bravely facing the crowds at the Targets in the flesh at the opening hour …  so I say, let this be a place of catharsis unto you!

Did you snag what you wanted? Were you left tragically wanting? Could you navigate the website? Did you sleep through the whole thing? Will you brave the eBay madness and bid for what you missed?  Or did you make out like a bandit and need a place to brag?

That place is right here, in the comments. We’ll all try to be happy for you.

Alternatively you could tell me, am I a darned fool for considering almost $200 for that throw? Because I’m feeling awfully tempted…
