New Online Tool for Parents: ChoreMonster!craftyamy
Okay parents, you are about to get really excited. I’m introducing you to a new tool called ChoreMonster. For many kids, chores are something that they try to avoid at all costs, but this web/mobile app makes chores fun by turning them into a game. Parents assign chores to their kids and set a number of points that will be earned when a specific chore is completed. They also create real-life rewards (ice cream, a new video game, a trip to the zoo, etc.) that can be redeemed by the children with the points that they’ve earned. Click through the jump to learn more!
Kids have access to their own dashboard that enables them to manage their chores and keep track of their points. As they complete chores, children will also collect interactive monsters that they can play with and learn from.
I recently gave it a go using my dog Roxie as my “child.” Goofy? Yes. But it shows you how the tool works. I really like it and think it’s perfect for parents. Take a peek!
Oh, and if you want to try ChoreMonster, visit their site and enter the invite code “Babble” in the upper right.
Add Your Children 1 of 6Once you log in to ChoreMonster, you'll easily be able to add a child. They each get their own user name and password - once created, they log in to the site on their own to manage their chores.
Assign Chores 2 of 6After adding your children, you will assign each of them chores and due dates. You can also give point values that can be earned when a chore is completed.
Chore Lists 3 of 6You'll see the chore lists on your admin panel. You'll also see chores that need to be approved here (so that you can confirm that the child actually did the chore). You'll also specify awards that they can win for completing chores.
Kids’ Profile 4 of 6You'll have an overview of each child and what is assigned to them.
Earning Rewards 5 of 6Children can mark that they completed their chores when they log in. For each chore they complete, they earn points.
Claiming Prizes 6 of 6When the required number of points are met, the child can claim the prize of their choice. So easy! And Roxie gets to wear a costume for completing her chores. Lucky her!
