I am getting excited for Spring!! Somehow I think if I decorate for Spring it will get here faster.
Here’s one of my favorite projects to make – Coffee Filter Pom Pom Banners! All you need are coffee filters, string, small beads, some newspaper or tissue paper and cupcake liners.
I’ll share how to make them, after the break!
For a little extra color, I dyed my coffee filters. Then I laid them on a cookie sheet in a warm oven for faster drying.
To make the Pom Pom Banner:
1. I took small cupcake liners, various dyed coffee filters, tissue paper, newspaper and beads, then strung them on string. I made a knot at one end of the string, then I put the bead on, followed by the pom pom, then another bead and another knot.
2. Then I spaced the pom poms out about 10 inches and did the same thing.
3. I pushed a metal BBQ skewer through the layers of the pom pom to make a hole, and I wrapped the end of the string in scotch tape to make it stiff, so it would go through the layers and the beads (the holes in the beads were extra large).
These would also be fun to make for a party!
