September Is National Sewing Month

Did you know September is National Sewing Month? Sounds like it’s time for me to finally tackle all those projects I’ve been avoiding.

I don’t sew much at all, but I always think I can make my own curtains or repair damaged clothing. Then, it sits in my closet until the room is already redecorated or the clothes no longer fit.

I’m going to attempt a project per week through September, in honor of National Sewing Month. I want to sew a window scarf for the girls’ new bedroom, repair my favorite pajamas, and make new curtains for the kitchen to replace the ones my washer ate. They’re all very simple projects, so I think this will be manageable!

Plus, the fabric deals for sewing month should make it all fit nicely into my budget. I just received a JoAnn’s coupon for 60% off any regularly priced fabric in my email, good through Saturday. You can also save 40% online on the regular price of any one item, with coupon code AE952 through September 14th.

It’s the perfect time to buy everything you need for Halloween costumes or holiday projects. Get a jump on them for Sewing Month for a more relaxing fall & winter! What will you be sewing next month?
