The Ultimate Fall Cleaning List and Free Download

There’s spring cleaning…..and then there’s fall cleaning! It never stops, right?  Here are a few big fall cleaning tasks to get you started to prepare for cold weather and the holiday season. I always start at the top and work my way down so that I don’t have to clean anything twice!

  • Window Coverings 1 of 10
    Window Coverings
    Time to get out that vacuum and collect all the dust from the window coverings and blinds! For a deeper clean make sure to read the care instruction label.
  • Fixtures 2 of 10
    Fixtures
    Fans collect a scary amount of dust! And light fixtures are a magnet for bugs. Cleaning your light bulbs will also brighten up the room....just make sure to remove them before cleaning!
  • Bookshelves and Furniture 3 of 10
    Bookshelves and Furniture
    Time to clean off those big pieces of furniture you've neglected in weekly cleaning.
  • Upholstery 4 of 10
    Upholstery
    Under the couch cushions = dust/cereal collection zone.
  • Linens 5 of 10
    Linens
    Time to freshen up all your linens and flip the mattresses for better wear. 2 hours at the laundromat is worth the effort if you have a small home machine.
  • Appliances 6 of 10
    Appliances
    When was the last time you cleaned your oven and refrigerator shelves?
  • Trashcans 7 of 10

    Bacteria breeding ground. Might as well disinfect all your doorknobs, remote control and phones while you are at it.

    Clean the windows on a cloudy day so you can prevent streaking.

    Replace your air filters and furnace filters! It saves energy and your air will be cleaner!
  • Safety 10 of 10
    Safety
    Safety first. Make sure to replace batteries in all your alarms. If you don't have a carbon monoxide detector....GET ONE. You won't even know if you are being poisoned by carbon monoxide until it's too late.
