Using Rugs to Combat Allergies

Using Rugs to Combat Allergies

I have *really* bad allergies, so it’s good that I live in a loft with concrete floors. That puppy you see in the picture causes a lot of trouble with my sinuses, but I love her! So the concrete floor helps – it keeps down the allergens and it’s way easier to clean.

But the concrete floors also get cold and seem uninviting. I haven’t spent a winter here yet, but I am dreading the freezing cold floor part and how bland my apartment will look. So the solution? Rugs! They are the great equalizer – making it easier to clean up the dust and hair that flairs up my allergies, while at the same time making my place more attractive and inviting.

I purchase a few rugs from Home Depot recently, but one that I really love is the Shaw Living Morrison Accent Rug seen above. It works with my modern decor, is easy to clean/vacuum and is the right price. This cute rug fits in the doorway and was right around $30!

Are you in the same situation as me? Do you love hardwoods/concrete floors because it saves your sinuses, but you still want the benefits of rugs? Check out the Home Depot selection of rugs to browse the various sizes and styles and see what will work for you.
