Black Friday has been an annual tradition with my family for my entire adult life — it is a fun way to kickoff the holiday shopping season with my mom, sisters and best friend. This year, with so many stores opening at midnight or earlier, it’s more like Thanksgiving shopping. And, I am so not happy about it.
There are still a few that will open with a more
reasonable traditional start time — you know, around dawn! We haven’t worked out our Black Friday shopping strategy yet, but it looks like the group will be splitting up for some midnight openings, skipping the Thanksgiving openings and reuniting at Meijer for the 4am opening. Check out the Black Friday start times below:
Thanksgiving, November 24th:
Toys R Us
Black Friday, November 25th:
Walmart (Big Ticket Items begin)
Dick’s Sporting Goods
Bass Pro Shops
Half Price Books
Harbor Freight (6am for members only)
If you’re heading out for the big morning (um, or overnight), check back later this week for some of the best Black Friday deals and my tips for a successful Black Friday experience. So, what do you think — does the store opening time affect your willingness to shop?
