We last featured Snikiddy Snacks’ line of organic bite-sized cookies and salty snack puffs as a healthy alternative to the usual Halloween treats, but if weaning the kids off processed snack foods is one of your resolutions for 2009, Snikiddy is still one of the tastiest such tools for the job we’ve found.
Chocolate Chippers (pictured), made with whole wheat flour, chocolate chips, real butter and unrefined cane sugar, are arguably the best of Snikiddy’s sweetened bunch, especially if your kids are usually averse to anything that’s not labeled Chips Ahoy; and unlike their processed counterparts, the certified-organic cookies contain no trans fats, hydrogenated oils, GMOs or preservatives.
If chocolate’s not your thing, Snikiddy has natural banana and cherry alternatives, and if sugar — cane or otherwise — is on the list of things to cut from the lunchbox this year, the company’s Mac n’Cheese Puffs and Grilled Cheese Puffs are the cream of its puffed-snack line — although the Rockin’ Ranch and Pizza Pie versions are a close second.
Learn more at Snikiddy Snacks’ website (full ingredients lists are available), and pick up a bag or 12 at Super Target, Whole Foods and a number of other offline retailers.
