Make Those Fingerprints Unique

By | April 15th, 2009 at 2:05 pm

Every fingerprint may be unique, but those handprints every kid brings home from nursery school all seem to be cut from the same drab mold.

How do you make your kid’s handprint look different? Grab the paints and let them at it.

Child to Cherish replaces drab with fab with their Decorative Handprint Kit with Paint Set. The plaster mold is easy to mix up, and just as easy to cast their print. Set it aside to dry, and you’ve got another day’s art project with the kids already planned in advance: because now it’s time for them to get decorating.

The non-toxic watercolor paints included are easy wash when they get a little carried away, and the painted up prints are will get granny’s water works a flowing on Mother’s Day.

Get it for $12.99 from Child to Cherish

I love the hand print I have from 1973. Yep. Shuddup you. Yes, they had already invented fingerprints by then.

    Anywho….this is a fun idea. :)

My hand print is kind of bland and yellowed. Yes…like a fossil. I’m not talking to you anymore. :(

Oh, before I go…I also love the idea of colorful fingerprints. It’s art for kids to make (with their very own fingerprints to cherish many…many….years later…) and with your help, they can do it before they can actually do real Art for themselves.

I like the “fingerprinting art set” which I think I had seen on this website first. And for inspiration, I thought “Ed Emberley’s Complete Funprint Drawing Book” looked great. :)
