Courtney Thorne-Smith is Happy She Waited to Be a Mom, Releases Book About Body Issues
Pregnant at 39, Thorne-Smith is glad she waited to have a family because she felt she would not have been a good role-model when she was a 20-something fitness fanatic.
“Children
learn what they live, and I’m in such a good place now. I dealt with my
compulsive exercise years ago. “I do believe I was only able to get
pregnant because I dealt with my issues.”
Thorne-Smith recently released her first novel, Outside In, inspired by her years as a weight-conscious actress on Melrose Place and Ally McBeal.
When asked by USA Today how her pregnancy has changed her body image, she replied:
“I just feel amazing. As I’m talking to you, I have my hand on my belly,
and the baby’s kicking. It’s this feeling of, “OK, this is what my
body’s for.” I want to apologize to my body for all the years I was
mean to it.”
It’s nice to see a star figure her life out before bringing a child in the world, which is more than we can say for her, her, her, her and definitely her.
