No, he’s not holding out for more money or suffering the consequences of off-season antics as has become so common place in professional sports. He is taking off for some family time.
Says Boozer, “My son is recovering from a bone marrow transplant in Miami. Because
of his procedure, my return to training camp in Boise, Idaho, is
uncertain. As soon as my son is home from the hospital and stable, I
