Jessica Seinfeld Hauled Into Court for Plagiarism

Missy Chase Lapine, author of The Sneaky Chef: Simple Strategies for Hiding Healthy Foods in Kids’ Favorite Meals, has filed papers with the courts to take on Jessica Seinfeld for plagiarism.

Jessica’s similar book, Deceptively Delicious: Simple Secrets to Getting your Kids Eating Good Food, went on the market 6 months after Lapine’s did.

The suit addresses the similarities between the two books, the comments Jerry Seinfeld made about Lapine “coming out of the woodwork,” and the fact that Lapine pointed out similarities between the books to her own publisher and to Seinfeld’s 6 months before publishing her own book.

I have no idea how this is going to end, but Jessica is annoying and my Granny has snuck veggies into all kinds of foods for years.   I think Granny needs a cut of the action.

UPDATE: Thanks Uri for the link to the actual court documents

Jessica Seinfeld SO obviously copied and only minimally changed Missy Lapine

I’m rooting for the little guy here. I hated seeing how Jerry Seinfeld, one of my favorite comics, trashed Missy Chase-Lapine over the airwaves. I’m hoping that the Seinfeld’s high priced lawyers won’t win out, but they probably will.

There are some big similarities – even looking at the cover design. I think Missy is right, but Seinfeld is going to pull out all the expensive lawyer. Bleh. Between his big mouth and that of Michael Richards, Seinfeld has totally been ruined for me.

I’ve looked at both books, and the similarities are pretty fishy. I’m just worried that Lapine will get eaten up by the high-power lawyers that the Seinfelds can no doubt afford.

Your Granny should sue both those bitches..hahahaha
