Colin Farrell: Taking On Heath’s Role A ‘Painful Honor’

By | February 22nd, 2008 at 11:15 am

Colin Farrell says that he’s honored beyond measure to be taking on one of the three roles that will replace Heath Ledger in  “The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus,” but painfully so.

He says he
accepted the role as a tribute to Heath. “It’s about getting Heath’s
work out there. He’s too good for any of his work not to be seen,”
Colin told Sydney’s Daily Telegraph. “It makes me feel
uncomfortable to think about it too much but it’s an incredibly painful
honor to have, you know, and an honor I wish wasn’t bestowed, but an
honor nonetheless.”

The other actors who are taking over Heath’s role are Johnny Depp and Jude Law. (Note: all of the actors playing this role? ALL dads. Go dads!) They will each take over playing Tony, Heath’s character, when he steps through a
magic mirror into an alternate reality at several different points in
the film.

I, for one, am thrilled that we’ll get to see a Colin-Johnny-Jude sandwich – of a sort – but, yeah – the cost of it was far too high.

I used to dislike Colin but since he has gone public about his little son and how he changed his life I really respect him now. He is a good father.
