Suri Cruise’s Dye Job?
Suri Cruise made an appearance in NY with her parents Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes – and the recently-turned-2-toddler is sporting a new hair color! They dyed her hair?
More pics of cutie pie Suri!
I’m pretty sure Suri’s hair was fairly dark before? Right? It looks like it’s been colored. Hey, I’m one of the most liberal parents when it comes to hair and my kids – trust me, my 4 have had every hairstyle known to mankind, every color of the rainbow, streaks – you name it, they’ve done it. However, they weren’t 2. I’m not saying that Tom and Katie dyed Suri’s hair yes I am, perhaps it lightened on it’s own, you know, since the last time we saw Suri not a chance.
I just think 2-years-old is a bit young to be pulling out the Clairol. Just sayin’.
Putting Suri’s new hair color aside, she’s one of the cutest little girls I’ve ever seen. She really is a looker!

Amen Carrie- It’s not a matter of I’m a better mom than you… it is definately a matter of tooth decay. Being a thumb sucking, braces kid, I will do anything to spare my kids that pain!
I know it is hard to get them off and you want to give them anything that makes them happy but for a week of discomfort when she is weening off it, you will see many more benefits. Let her get snuggly with you instead of the bottle before bed!
I didn’t want this to become a bottle/ no bottle issue.
The issue w/ older kids and bottles becomes tooth decay and alignment issues. A bottle drank at night with anything other than water is likely to cause residue to sit on teeth all night long, breaking down the enamel.
Sucking on a bottle at 4 years old could do what sucking on her thumb did to my daughter, cause pain in later years with braces and headgear due to jaw realignment. I wish I’d have known then what I know now, I would have stopped the thumb and the bottle as soon as teeth started to come in, but I was of the “she’ll do it on her own.”
As for suri’s hair, it’s probably a light reflection or it is naturally lightening.
Marie,
I won’t be sending my daughter to Kindergarten with her bottle. She has it in private in the morning and evening here at home. As for who needs it more, her or me (always the kind of question certain sort of anti-bottle moms ask): here’s my answer. She needs it–or should I say, enjoys it–more than MY need for her to be rid of it “on schedule.” I think it gives her comfort and pleasure. So even though I might like her to be done with it already, I’m not forcing the issue yet. We just moved and she is quite a wound-up kind of kid who has a hard time relaxing (kinda like her folks). It makes her feel cozy to drink a bit of herbal tea in her bottle during the early am and for a sip before bed and I am allll for her feeling cozy and secure. And may the world come down upon me and strike me down with judgment for not giving a rip what any “experts,” or come to think of it, other mothers, have to say. Not quite sure why we are talking about this anyway. Isn’t the prospect of dyed toddler hair a bit more alarming than the bottle? Honestly, come on.
Oh Crabmommy- I have seen it… but after three of my own (with a 4th on the way) I don’t think it is right. It doesn’t have anything to do with being “the thing to do”. I don’t know many four year olds that need a sippy cup… much less a bottle. Who needs it more… her or you?? Will you be sending her to Kindergarten with it??
As for the hair, definately wierd if they died it but we have seen worse in Hollywood so nothing surprises me!
Oh my, Marie. 2 and STILL ON A BOTTLE? Is that really a shocker? Have you never seen it? Mine is almost 4 and she still has her “bobby” at night and in the morning. At first I really cared about it–it just wasn’t “the thing to do.” Then I realized it doesn’t matter. At all. As for the dye thing, if they did it then they are whacked (but we know that anyway).Totally agree with Sassy.
I agree with mADDIE… kids hair does change color! I am wondering about the bottle in Suri’s hands…. 2 and still on a bottle!?!?
First of all, babies often are born with a full head of black hair and by the time they are two, their hair is much lighter.
Secondly, if dying her hair is the worst thing that Mr. and Mrs. Cruise ever do to their daughter, Suri Cruise will be one lucky young lady.
Third, why is this important to anyone?
Maybe Katie was sick of everyone saying that her hair looks just like Suri’s and she can’t change her gorgeous locks(What would she look like with out her brown hair) so she changed Suri’s hair. Goodness knows she got enough grief about it.
