Some people had never heard of Sarah Palin before John McCain chose her as his running mate. However, I bet a lot more people have heard of her now.
This is being dubbed as “Troopergate,” and Governor Palin was mayor of Wasilla township at the time.
An ethics investigation is under way concerning Sarah Palin, for what started as a family dispute in the ‘burbs of Anchorage.
In July, Governor Palin fired Walter Monegan, who is the state’s public safety director. Monegan had refused to fire Palin’s estranged former brother-in-law, who is a state trooper, who allegedly threatened to shoot her father during a child custody battle. However, the firing was listed for another reason – it was claimed by Palin that Monegan failed to fill vacancies. (Child custody! Guns! Lies!!)
Monegan alleges that he was pressured to fire trooper Michael Wooten, by Palin’s husband, Todd and a senior aide.
Wooten, after a police investigation, was found guilty of several infractions, one of which, was using a Taser gun on his stepson, according to the Anchorage Daily News.
McCain is probably hoping this doesn’t all blow up in his face and that of Palin. This may all come to a head on October 31 – five days before the election.
But despite all of the salacious rumors and possible facts (?) surrounding Sarah Palin, her popularity rating is at 80 per cent, which blows the other governors out of the water so to speak. So she’s obviously doing something right. Right?
