Lily Allen Talks About Miscarriage

By | January 19th, 2009 at 10:40 am

Singer Lily Allen spoke out for the first time about her miscarriage recently. There aren’t words to describe how devastating a miscarriage can be, and Lily says she required treatment in a “nuthouse” to cope with the grief.

Lily, 23, talked about her 3 weeks of psychiatric care following the loss of her baby in January of 2008. “I was really depressed,” she says, “and I’d kind of lost the plot a bit. It was quite a nasty time. But it was quite nice being in there. No one could get to me. No one knew I was there.”

If not for losing the baby, Lily believes that her romance with Ed Simons of the Chemical Brothers might have worked. Despite the tragedy, she says she still wants children. “I want to take them to school and make breakfast and packed lunches.”
