The world’s longest-living octuplets, born to Nadya Suleman, just turned a month old on February 26, and the babies’ neonatologist Dr. Mandhir Gupta said the preemies are doing well.
In a recent statement, Dr. Gupta said, “We are slowly introducing them to nipple or bottle feeding a few times a day, and they’re getting better and better at coordinating sucking, swallowing and breathing.”
The babies – six boys and two girls – weighed between 1 pound, 8 ounces, and 3 pounds, 4 ounces when they were born on January 26.
The children, in order of birth are: Noah – boy 2 lbs 11 oz, Maliah – girl 2 lbs 12 oz, Isaiah – boy 3 lbs 4 oz, Nariah – girl 2 lbs 8 oz, Makai – boy 1 lb. 8 oz, Josiah – boy 2 lbs 12 oz, Jeremiah – boy 1 lb. 15 oz, and Jonah – boy 2 lbs 11 oz.
It’s believed that the biggest baby – Isaiah, could possibly be ready to go home very soon - that is, if Nadya can prove to hospital staff that she has safe, stable living arrangements for her children.
