TLC’s Kate Gosselin from Jon & Kate Plus 8 fame is promoting her new book “Eight Little Faces,” and hopes to inspire moms and people in general, with her beliefs and wants to tell parents about the trials and tribulations – and joy – of raising mulitples.

Kate’s favorite Bible verse is in Proverbs:  “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding… ” She told Today’s Christian Woman magazine she has it taped on her bathroom mirror.

Although TLC may downplay their religious beliefs on the show, Kate describes herself as ”a Bible-believing Christian” and their family of ten attends an Assembly of God church in their Philadelphia suburb.

Gosselin said, “If (the producers) opt to edit out our faith, I know by now it hasn’t gone unnoticed … because we receive more e-mails from people who ‘just knew we were Christians’ than I can count.  Additionally, we receive more requests from churches to speak than I can fulfill!”

Kate’s new book consists of many family photos, comments from the mom of eight (twins and sextuplets) and “sprinkled” with scripture verses which have meaning for Kate and her family.  She said in an email that the book “is a quick punch of inspiration for moms, women and people in general.  It is packed full of lessons on topics that I have learned through giving birth to and raising twins and sextuplets.”

And what advice would Kate give to other moms of multiples?  “Hang on.  The first year (not to mention that pregnancy) will be extremely trying but try to enjoy it.  And most importantly realize that you can do it!  Develop a strict schedule, stick to it and it will pay you back multiple times!”

The TV mom also addresses the stress on a marriage when you’re parents to so many little ones.  Kate told Today’s Christian Woman, “When the babies were born, I was well aware that our marriage could crumble. It was close to doing so at times. … Even though the issues have changed, it’s never gotten easier. But Jon and I are more determined than ever that we’re in this together. We’ve told our kids many times that we’re always going to be a family. There are no other options.”

Kate is set for a book signing in Lakeland today from 5-7 at Family Christian Stores.  Manager of the Lakeland store, Kristopher Mendenhall said, “We’re excited to have her.  I think she brings relevance to moms of multiple children.”

Dearest Ladies of faith (and by this I mean faith in Christ), Why are you so adamant to cast the first stone? Are you without sin? Are not your works as filthy rags? Let us remember that many things said about this couple are “here-say” and you know what they say about here-say, its “heresy”. Remember that when 2 or more witnesses are present than every word can be established; yet there are still so many variables to the veracity of these claims made against them. Yes, this couple have made many poor decisions whereas they do not portray the Fruit of the Spirit in the best way; however are they not a “work in progress”? Are they not sinners like you and I in need of a Savior? God is the only rightesous judge, whereas we judge by our finite minds and conclusions. I urge you to be an example in your words as well, and pray for these people, and show your love and support, so that the world will see “our love for each other and turn to the Lord”. I agree that they are not the best spiritual example for me. Yet, we should look to Christ for the best example. And on a final note, please remember that it is television…condensed into shortened segments….that give another portral of what is actually 100% true. Sorry for the long message, but honestly I just have had enough with the immature rants and raves about this couple. It’s so easy to point the finger, yet to look at our own sin and shortcomings….never! No, help us Lord we need your spirit to fill us and lead us. “Exhortation points us to Christ, Condemnation repels us from Him”….let us exhort one another to good works rather than condemn each other.

I am saddened to hear of an ‘open marriage’ arrangement. Call me old’fashioned and a fuddy-duddy, but Christianity to me is something you flesh out in obedience to God’s Word not just talk or write about. I don’t know the truth of their relationship. Certainly the media gives slanted reporting. I just wish J&K would come clean about what their relationship status is – to give a spouse ‘permission to have a girlfriend’ is totally contrary to the Word of God. Where do things really stand?

Instead of spreading gossip and hate, you can really help Jon & Kate: http://richardtgarner.blogspot.com/2009/05/i-can-honestly-say-jon-is-my-best.html

And how do we know that they don’t pray before meals, or at other times, for that matter? We don’t know for sure…nor do we know about any of the other “wrongs” on Christian Mother’s very long list. For goodness sakes, just take a moment to think about what Kate does on a daily basis and give her some grace, just as God gives to all of you.

I have read numerous comments, about Jon and Kate, and by far the best I have read is by Christian Mother. I am a Christian also and she said everything that I have been thinking. I have always been shocked that they didn’t teach the children to say grace. I am very familiar with the Assembly of God church and I know how they believe and Jon and Kate, as far as I have seen, aren’t living any way like that church teaches. If they don’t get some Christian counseling they don’t want to be together and they are doing so much damage to their children. I have 2 grandsons that their parents divorced and they weren’t in any spotlight and they ended up having a very hard time. It broke my heart.

I was recently informed that Kate would be speaking at a women’s conference that I was going to attend. When I found out that she was the speaker, I declined to go. I feel that I am not judging her, just seeing the example she has chosen to lay out to the world. I feel that if she is the ‘motherly’ example we are to follow, then I choose not to follow that example. I do agree with several others that have spoken about this family, that if she really cherished her family and christian family, that she might give up some of her now extravagant lifestyle. You can only enjoy/exploit your family and friends so long before those relationships disappear. I understand that she has to be in control of the situation with so many children, but come on!!! Does she have to be so hateful to her children and husband because of it?

Again, let’s not take it upon ourselves to judge Kate, especially not to judge her faith in God. God sees all…not us, the viewers of an edited TV show. Keep in mind you are still watching TV, which is intended for entertainment purposes, and what we see on television is most likely not all encompassing of the person she is.

It is amazing to see someone be judged as much as the Gosselins. They need more quite time away from cameras and spending time with their family and Christian church friends. For someone to write a book and push Christianity to the max, then why is it that you never see ONE Christian friend, one blessing at the dinner table, one time of the day to share their good fortune and wealth from books, one example of how to be more like Christ…. Amazing America what the LOVE OF MONEY, WILL DO TO PEOPLE. I feel sorry for the kids. Imagine when they get older and watch the videos of their life. You tell me… ill they see kindness, hope and charity. God’s love is very different than the love I see from one of the parents. We are to cherish our wives, husbands and children AS CHRISTIANS, as God does the church and all the people in it. When you watch the mother Kate, do you see a mother that is more interested in pleasing the Lord.Does her tongue put forth the right message to her husband who she is suppose to love more than herself. If she didn’t write books on being a Christian then this wouldn’t apply to her. Keep in mind…Kate says and promotes she is a Christian. Then tell me why… small children who watch the show who know nothing about her say “Mommy or Gran, that lady is mean!”. No joke America…it this how we are suppose to live and behave to others…
No friends, no thank yous to God each day, no family at all to enjoy their lives with them, no Christian friends from church, no other kids other than their own to visit and play, no respect for even the camera people who spend a lot of their lives around the Gosselins, no love for the kids to see between the parents… IF KATE IS A CHRISTIAN then she would FORFEIT everything she owns to have a loving relationship with her family(parents), A friend, and others. Do the children deserve less time with their mother at such a young age? Are cameras and money more important to God than love and time?? I know they need money to survive, but do they need a million dollar home??? I am wealthy financially, but much more wealthy in love. It seems that the extra million that the children earn from the show could be spent better by giving it away and living in a $350,000 home! What is a home without a mother when t her children are so young. She can afford to be home, but it is her CHOICE to be away to make more money than she needs. What do you think? If Jon had an outside job, he might appreciate his wife and kids more when he got home. Jon is not the head of the house. GOD IS SUPPOSE TO BE, at least that is what Kate professes because she is a Christian. I haven’t seen a Christian who is in the news all the time act so hateful and deserving. I guess we will have more shows like this so children can grow up wanting material possessions more than love. It is so sad. I don’t what the show anymore because it makes me cry. Really. It is very sad to see Christians who have a chance to make a difference in other people’s lives act like this. THE LOVE OF MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL!!! Not having it, but LOVING it! What if God took away the house, the fancy cars, the books, the trips… and they were left with only the kids and themselves, would Kate be as happy? GOD IS IN CONTROL. HE KNOWS OUR HEARTS. HE KNOWS WHAT OUR CHILDREN AND SPOUSE NEEDS EVEN BEFORE WE DO. If I watched only one episode of Jon and Kate plus 8, I can bet that I would see Kate putting down others and her husband. It is so sad. WE SHOULD PRAY FOR KATE THAT GOD WOULD PUT HER AND JON IN A PLACE THAT WOULD HEAL THEIR FAMILY AND GET RID OF THE CAMERAS FOR A WHILE. I think she thinks she deserves so much because she had a lot of kids at one time. I would hate to be in her shoes in front of my family and friends. I would certainly hate to be like her in front of Jesus Christ. Going to churches and speaking about how your family loves the Lord and how he has helped you is very dangerous territory. It is one thing to tell of your salvation, but another to be fake in God’s name. She better lookout for God’s wrath. The devil is busy in Kate and JOn’s lives. He is deceitful, ugly,…PRAY PRAY PRAY PRAY.. this family needs to be OFF the air and get back to God’s direction.

I have to say as a Christian AND a mother of multiples, that it is not our job to judge Kate for the kind of wife or mother she is. You are all entitled to your opinions, however, maybe consider that you have no idea the magnitude of stress she deals with on a daily basis. I think it’s a shame that people would take to bashing Kate for her short comings…she may not be a perfect wife all of the time, but I think she’s been an amazing inspiration to families who have faced the challenges of raising multiples.

As a Christian myself, I think Kate is a horrible example of a wife. She is overbearing, constantly disrespectful, and very condescending to her husband. Of course, this is not unnoticed by millions across their viewership. The church is so clingy to anything from the pop culture phenom that has a Christian tone to it that many have grabbed onto their popularity. I wish they would wake up and realize putting her and her family on a peddle stool is not healthy for Christian women.

I think she brings relevance to wives that treat their husbands like crap.
