Dear Blog, I think it’s time I say “Goodbye”
I’m afraid my blog and I are calling it quits. You heard me.
I got straight to the point and let you know what was on my mind, a rare
move for Megg Lasswell.
I had every intention
of letting those of you who are kind enough to read my blog, know that I was
leaving behind Love is Blind…weeks ago.
Unfortunately, I am a bit of a non-confrontational asshole and I’m
letting you know right now. Right here
and now, in this, my “dear john” letter.
I’m hoping that you all will forgive me for exiting on this last blog
post instead of telling you and then posting some more. That’s such a bitch move, right? I know, and I hang my head in shame.
The good news, if you choose to see it that way (and I hope
you do), is that I will be moving out
of the Love is Blind home and into the
Strollerderby complex. I’m absolutely
excited and totally blessed to be a part of the Babble family and so I hope you
will tune in at my new locale. I shall
be there a few times a week, with my random words, just for you. As for
my GiGi updates, you can always find us at my Mommy Martini blog, which I
promise to update quite a bit. I haven’t
been as diligent about updating it while posting here, so you can bet your ass
that I will be on top of that blog from here on out. In fact, some reasons for my bye bye blogging
are on my latest post. I have a great
many things to learn and experience as a first time mother so why not commiserate
with or laugh together.
You can, of course, also find me on Twitter or Facebook if
you like. See, I’m not going far.
It’s been cathartic, amusing, blissful, and resourceful
blogging here. To those of you reading,
thank you so much for letting me do what I do and for never ever seeming to be that
offended. Thank you for your often sweet replies You’re lovely. Yes, you.
So then, I suppose this is Goodbye (for now. from here. )
sad, sad, sad… but will definitely be jumping over to follow your adventures with your beautiful girl.
Well, you gave us a delicious consolation prize…sure, you’re leaving us “here”, but you gave us a “There” to bookmark….and that removes the potential sadness from this note.
So, it’s been a treat reading you here, and I am looking forward to hearing about your adventures with your little rock star girl over there!
Oh boo! But will definitely be checking in on your personal blog more. I heart GiGi – thank you for sharing her with us here!

Megg, I’ve loved reading about your and Gigi’s adventures! I’m so sad to see Love is Blind go but so glad you’re not disappearing entirely. =)
Too bad, but I understand. I haven’t been a heavy commenter, but I have been following this blog for a while. GiGi is adorable and beautiful and bright, and you clearly love her and want only the best for her. Best of luck with whatever you do next!

I have loved everyone of your posts. And have been able to relate on so many levels. With my first child I was a single mom from the moment I peed on the stick. And then met a man who became her Daddy and had another child who is a week or so younger then your little girl. So hearing the stages she is on is refreshing because my is very “terribly two” right now. I wish you and beautiful Gigi all the love in the world.

I’m bummed that you’re leaving this blog and will miss your posts, I love your insight and hearing about your beautiful daughter. But the consolidation prize of heading on over to strollerderby and updating Mommy Martini more does help take the sting away

You and your daughter are such a great team. It’s been such a pleasure seeing her get older (and more beautifuller) and laughing at your excellent descriptions of the joys and frustrations of parenthood. But like the others say, I’ll follow you at Mommy Martini and Strollerderby and I wish you the best of luck wherever you go and whatever you do.

I always read your blog, but rarely post. Sad to see you are leaving, but I will start reading your other blog. Gigi is the cutest girl with such personality, it seems she takes after her mother! I was a single mommy for the first 4 years of my oldest(I have two boys- 6 and an almost 2 yr. old)son’s life. So I can relate, and definitely will always have a soft spot in my heart for single mommies. Just wanted to let you know that you are a fabulous mom and an awesome writer!:)
