Car-bot Jam-sesh Rock-out
I interrupt the usual Straight From the Bottle long-winded essays to share this video of Archer dead-seriously rocking out on a recent drive with my parents to the San Diego Zoo.
The jerky-robot-dance at the 1:00 marker is a definite highlight. I also sneakily catch my dad rocking out in the driver’s seat. But whatever, that’s kind of how we roll.

Love how he adjusts his head bobs to the music, then takes it side to side…so cute!
That is hilarious! Especially right near the end when he goes nuts and you’re laughing in the background.
My son seriously does the same exact thing. its so cool isnt it. he even looks around like archer does like ‘hes so awesome’. love it.
He’s rocking out to Modest Mouse, so he already has good taste. Adorable little indie rock boy!
That song is Archer’s favorite (first track off We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank) He’s got the beat. (He’s got the beat.)
The shot of your dad is pretty funny too.
My Dad is the baddest ass in town, for sure. And even though his rhythm is always slightly off, he keeps dancing. There’s a life lesson, right there.
My 2 yr old daughter was on my lap watching this with me and ll I can say is that she had a look on her face that said “Dude, that kid is so badass. I wonder how I might score those digits.”
When it was over she said ” I wanna see that boy again.” Shit, she is her mother’s child.
That’s fantastic. Doing a modified robot while sitting in a cowhide harness strap car seat; unbelievable talent. Jack’s got a thing for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, especially for their By the Way CD and the track called Cabron. He loves the line “I’ll come around and make peace get down have a , Let’s keep the moon awake and do electric boogiloo” I always catch him playing air guitar like he’s scratching a poison sumac rash on his stomach or air drums like he’s swatting at imaginary flies. I by the way am also a Dad with the not so rhythmic rhythm. Good to know I’m not alone.
Long time reader, no time commentor. But I have to say, this is the best EVER! I love his head-bob. He’s too cool already.
Ahh yes, we are very familiar with the in-car family rockouts! My 2 year old is particularly fond of Mates of State and Rocky Votolato haha, she starts singing and boogying down in her seat. It’s sad to think that one day she’ll probably decide that we listen to crap and will refuse to sing with us, we’ve just gotta cherish these good times!
I love your blog, Archer is so cute!
