Nine Year Olds Performing Journey Song

You know Journey? Steve Perry? The song “Separate Ways“?

Ever wondered what it would sound like if it were performed by a band made up of 9-year-olds?

Did it sound like that? Yeah, I wouldn’t have guessed it would sound any good, either.

The band is called Recess. They’re from Cleveland.

Also, to be fair, they aren’t all 9. The singer, Vincent Fondale, is. The rest of the group is Alex Raz on guitar (11), Joey Sampson on drums (9), Alexis Shook on bass (12), and Anthony Fondale on keyboards (13). I guess that means the keyboard player has to back up his younger brother. Which could sort of suck for him. But maybe he’s more mature than I am.

They aren’t exactly neophytes, either. Vincent has his own web site, and Alex has a MySpace page. Still, they’ve got talent.
