Amy Poehler Wants You to Know ‘Smart Girls’

Posted by thenewsjunkie on November 12th, 2008 at 6:09 pm

It has only been a couple of weeks since Amy Poehler had baby Archie and left her brilliant rapping, “Palin” interviewing and Hillary helmet hair behind. You miss her, don’t you?

She’s back with a new show, but this one’s not exactly for you.

It’s for your daughter (OK, fine, you can watch it too. Here’s a preview.). It’s call “Smart Girls at the Party,” and it’s part of ON Networks online webcasts. The first episode launches next Monday, Nov. 17.

In each episode, Poehler interviews a young girl who has something to say or a special talent. The idea is that you don’t have to be famous (or, we’re guessing, a wig-wearing Hannah Montana type) to be interesting or to make a contribution to the world or your community.

Really? But you still have to be pretty, right?

Love it! That’s exactly the kind of thing we need in today’s media.
