There are times when I am flat out thankful that so far at least, I am not the mother of a girl-child. Stupidity like that exhibited by these books tends to bring out that thankfulness.

This is the most annoying part of raising a girl, wading through all this glamour crap. For shame indeed.

From the Amazon product description:
“Inside this handy guide you’ll find instructions on how to host a spa party, create your own style, exit a limo gracefully, make your own body glitter, persuade your best friend to lend you her clothes, put on a fashion show, make your own jewelry box, and much, much more!”

I think I’m going to be sick.

Oy, this just makes me tired. I’m tired of fighting it. I’m tired of pointing out strong female characters to my kids in an attempt to fight this type of unfair propaganda. Ditto the Hermione Granger comment. What were they thinking?
