Get Your Boobs Ready: Record-Breaking Worldwide Nurse-In August 8
Capping off World Breastfeeding Week, which starts tomorrow, is a hopefully record-breaking mass breastfeeding event, the strength of which could even cause spontaneous lactation in sensitive souls not even participating. Starting in New Zealand at 10 am local time, as the earth rotates it will bring a fresh wave of group breastfeeding in each time zone around the world.
Interested in participating? Check out this list of participating countries and contacts for getting involved. It’s not too late!
Some of the goals of the event, in addition to establishing a new record for the most mothers breastfeeding at the same time, are :
- To nurture a fellowship among breastfeeding mothers
in their locality and country that may facilitate the formation of
mother support groups. - To
establish simultaneous breastfeeding as a form of universal prayer for
peace and thanksgiving for the gift of motherhood and breastfeeding.
Sounds good to me! If I were still nursing I’d definitely participate.
