She didn’t have a phone to call the police with.. at one point he pulled into a convenience store and she yelles at someone else to call from their cell phone.. She was driving behind him honking and flashing her lights to warn the people ahead that he was coming

I concur, leahsmom.
There are reasons police call off car chases!
I’m happy he was stopped and that no one was hurt, but this smacks of fighting with a robber to me.

Your Canadian Mom

You can do that in the Philippines. Although, I am not pretty sure about the part whether the driver has a gun or not. But I still won’t risk that.

I admire her bravery. I mean, imagine swerving to a very pregnant woman? She’s also concerned about her baby’s welfare.

She’s now an addition to our modern-day female heroes. I admire her for doing that. Not all of us have the opportunity to do so. :D

I commend her bravery, and I suppose the answer is yes, but part of me wonders if it is really that much safer to chase the guy until he hits another car? I mean, I guess, yes, if he’s going to hit someone anyway. But I’d be more likely to call the police because 1) sirens warn other folks (and pedestrians) that a chase is going on and 2) I’d have no idea how to safely chase someone and make them crash.

That’s the difference between US and Canada. In Canada you can give chase to a drunk driver and be pretty sure he doesn’t have a gun. In DC I’d be afraid I’d get shot. How many of you here in 2nd Amendment land would have given chase, pregnant or not?
