Tripp Palin’s Name Explained
Curious about the choice of Tripp for Bristol Palin’s newborn son?
Laura Wattenberg (“The Baby Name Wizard“), told the Chicago Tribune that Bristol wanted to go with a “tr” name to go along with her brothers Track and Trig. That’s speculation, of course, but it seems like as good a theory as any.
According to Wattenberg, adding the extra “p” is unusual

By which you of course meant, adult women who wait until they have the means and resources to support and care for their children before trying to conceive.
You know: responsible people. Or maybe you don’t.
Anonymous commented on Jan 01 70 at 12:00 amI just think of Trip Fontaine from The Virgin Suicides. only with an extra “p” …which makes it “original” and “cool” haha
Anonymous commented on Jan 01 70 at 12:00 amSo, wait – you are saying that your target audience for this blog is the same as People Magazine’s target audience?
Anonymous commented on Jan 01 70 at 12:00 amTrip IS NOT a preppy name!
It’s a preppy nickname.
Ignorance personified, not one educated person in the family.

brettsinger commented on Jan 01 70 at 12:00 amWe’re certainly not alone in our interest (“fascination” seems strong) in the Palins. Bristol recently received $300,000 from People magazine for pictures of her baby.
BBBGMOM commented on Jan 01 70 at 12:00 amI see the fascination w/ Bristol and the Blog’s demographic as coinicidences. Bristol was thrown into the limelight by her own mother and ranks as a current celebrity (though she probably will lose her luster quickly and just be a normal teenage mom. As for the 35+ group, I was first pregnant at 28 and admit to being a little wistful that I didn’t start three or four years earlier. So, yes, I’ll admit to a little fascination w/ women who will be “free” at forty or will be young enough to really enjoy their grandchildren. But I don’t know if that can be applied across the board. Plenty of people are not emotionally ready until they are mid-thirties in spite of their “dried up” wares.
Anonymous commented on Jan 01 70 at 12:00 amI’m puzzled by this blog’s fascination with Bristol Palin. Is it because she doesn’t fit the target audience, 35+-year-old women who wait until their fertility is shot before trying to conceive?
