Anonymous commented on Jan 01 70 at 12:00 amThis is a perfect example of how old fashioned feminism has messed us up as much as it’s helped. We teach children that women and men can compete equally and are essentially the same and any apparent differences are due to socialization. The fact is that most men can easily subdue their mate physically because men are typically stronger than women. No socialization will change that. We need a new feminism that will help and protect women. I am a feminist. I believe women are very different than men. I will not engage in hand – to – hand combat with my man because I know I would loose. If my man does not protect me from violence then he will not have the privilege of my female company.

I am disgusted by Chris Brown, I dont care if she told him to punch her in the face. it doesnt make it right, ever. i knew this in HS, in Middle school, heck even in elementry school i knew that hitting someone was wrong, no matter what the reason.
I feel so sorry for that girl that you quoted in the second to last paragraph… her best friend got hit and no one is making a big deal about it?… how about you!?!?! if my best friend got hit by her boyfriend, you bet your ass I am telling someone, my parents, her parents, guidance counsler, someone who will do something about it. not making a big deal about it is what makes them think it is okay to do it again.
I think they should get women who are victims of abusive relationships and have them go talk at schools. maybe seeing what can happen first hand will let these kids know that it isnt okay.
Anonymous commented on Jan 01 70 at 12:00 amUgh, it’s disgusting to think that these kids, girls especially, think that this is totally acceptable behavior.
How on earth do you not have anything go off inside you, telling you, “hey, there is NEVER any reason for anyone to be treated like this…”
Maybe these recent events will help start proper education in schools and elsewhere. Atleast I hope so! I know I was never raised to believe anyone hitting me was okay and i’m not THAT much older than these kids.
