Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax and Nature Conservancy Team Up For Trees

I’m kind of liking all the sideshow stuff surrounding Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax movie.

Between the reading days and now this partnership with the Nature Conservancy to help plant a billion trees, it’s a fun week for the world, and it shows what can happen when movie powerhouses get behind good causes.

Yes, it’s great advertising — no doubt about that — but it’s also good work, so I can cheer for that, especially when the entire book and movie is about conservation.

Sorry, I got caught up in the excitement. Here’s what I’m talking about.

The Lorax movie teamed up with the Nature Conservancy to create “The Lorax Speaks” project, so movie-goers can pitch in on the billion trees campaign. There’s all sorts of facebook fun available, including a create-your-own Lorax meets Wilford Brimley mustache photo, and you can learn how to help. (What kid wouldn’t want that? What adult? Pure cool.)

I hope you’ll check it out before the movie hits Friday.
