It’s a Mobile, Small World After All

disney small world appYou know the song. Chances are it will be in your head by the end of this post. It might be there now:

It’s a world of laughter and a world of tears
it’s a world of hopes and a world of fears,
there’s so much that we share
that it’s time we’re aware
it’s a small world after all…

Which takes us to the chorus.

The story behind the famed Disney attraction, It’s a Small World, is a fantastic one. It was built by Disney for the 1964 World’s Fair as a salute to UNICEF, sponsored by Pepsi, and then moved to Disneyland. The iconic ride features the art and design of Disney legend Mary Blair, and it has entertained countless millions of people for decades.

And unlike most theme park rides, this one has a message. It is simple, pure, and true: It’s a small world, so everybody be cool to each other. I paraphrased it a bit.

Which leads to the latest spin on It’s a Small World, a very cute and incredibly sweet app filled with whimsical interactivity, breathtaking artwork, and, of course, THE SONG.

The Disney Small World app aka “it’s a small world” is available on iTunes for $3.99 and compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. It requires iOS 4.3 or later.

Download it today, and help make the world that much smaller.
