Babble Best Picks: Strollers

One of the biggest purchases for your baby is the stroller, riddled with safety, style, and status issues - as well as affordability, of course, considering some strollers climb above the $1,000 mark. The choices and questions are seemingly endless: How do you accommodate your newborn without wasting money on a short-lived purchase? What are the features you absolutely need? Are luxury strollers really worth it? Can you find a good stroller in the $100 range?

To make your search easier, Babble assembled and test-drove over 30 of the newest strollers - from lightweight umbrella strollers to all-terrain joggers - to find the best of the best for every budget, geographic location, and age group. Did we miss one? Nominate your favorite stroller here.

Best Strollers: Mamas and Papas Tour

The Tour is one of the lightest Mamas & Papas strollers, and it was actually the most lightweight, nimble little umbrella stroller we tested. It was also the most stylish with its chic grey color and fun polka dot print – something we wouldn’t mind showing off at the park. While it has decent canopy coverage, a comfortable interior, and a super-easy breakdown, we have to say that our favorite part of the stroller is that the foot can be adjusted up or down for your child’s age and preference. However, being the most expensive umbrella stroller of the bunch, we wish it had a little better storage. It was difficult to get even a mid-sized pocketbook stuffed under the seat, and reclining the seat all the way makes the storage basket fully inaccessible.

So while the cute, stylish, super-lightweight Tour might be perfectly fine for light shopping and short errands, we think there are comparable (if not better) umbrella strollers at more affordable prices.

Get it from Toys ‘R’ Us, $229.99
