10 Winnie the Pooh Quotes That Will Always Make Us Cry

Deep in the Hundred Acre Wood, where Christopher Robin plays, you’ll find a little yellow fellow who is arguably the most famous bear ever.

Yes, Winnie the Pooh.

Created by A.A. Milne and named after a toy bear owned by his son, Christopher Robin Milne, the tubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff has managed to win hearts the world over for decades with his wide-eyed wisdom and honeyed outlook on life.

And though he considers himself to be a bear of very little brain, Pooh has proven time and time again that he’s a lot smarter than he thinks if these 10 “thotful” ponderings are any indicator:

  • Ponderings to Ponder 1 of 11

Grab a tissue. Pooh has a way stirring up dust that somehow manages to get in our eyes.

  • The people we love are what makes life worth living 2 of 11

"If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you."

    So many feels. Sniffle.

  • True friendships last forever 3 of 11

"We'll be friends forever, won't we, Pooh?" asked Piglet. "Even longer," Pooh answered.

Doesn't this take you back to that first bestie you loved more dearly than anyone else on the planet in, like, second grade? Memory lane is a meepy place.

  • The best thing about dreams is that blurred line between fantasy and reality 4 of 11

"I think we dream so we don't have to be apart for so long. If we're in each other's dreams, we can be together all the time."

Throat lumps anyone? I know I'm not the only one who whispers this very quote in their children's sweet little ears before taking off on a business trip.

  • We’ll always be together, even when we’re not 5 of 11

"If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart ... I'll always be with you."

Sob. This one makes all the ninjas in the whole world simultaneously chop onions at warp speed. Because it's so beautiful. And something I think we all want our children to remember when they're not with us.

  • We carry the people we love in our hearts 6 of 11

"If there ever comes a day when we can't be together keep me in your heart, I'll stay there forever."

This one brings on the ugly cries.

  • True friends never forget each other 7 of 11

"Promise me you'll never forget me because if I thought you would I'd never leave."

No one wants to be forgotten. Aaaand now I need more tissues.

  • Love is caring too much and being ok with it 8 of 11

"Some people care too much, I think it's called love."

Darn Winnie the Pooh and all his spot-on wisdom about the world. You can't hear those shuddery gasps can you?

  • Loyalty among friends is everlasting 9 of 11

"We will be friends until forever, just you wait and see."

Such simple, innocent loyalty. I miss those days. Sob.

  • Love is putting the happiness of others ahead of yours 10 of 11

"Love is taking a few steps backward, maybe even more … to give way to the happiness of the person you love."

Truer words were never spoken. You know it's true.

  • Days are always made better with friends 11 of 11

"A day without a friend is like a pot without a single drop of honey left inside."

Because no one ever wants to be alone. Life is so much better when your family and friends are in it. Anyone else want to hug everyone right now?
