15 Disney Fashion Don'ts

Glass slippers, seashells, feathers, and assorted furbelows: they make up the magical wardrobes of some of our most favorite Disney characters.

So how would some of those looks translate to everyday life?

Not that well.

Heavy sigh.

Just think about it. Clomping around in a pair of glass shoes would not be the best idea.

You know it’s true.

And until casual cosplay becomes a widespread thing, check out 15 Disney fashion don’ts that remind us imitation is not always the sincerest form of flattery.

(Even though we kind of wish we could pull these looks off.)

  • Shell Bra 2 of 16

Unless you're Lady Gaga, better throw this look back.

  • Pinstripe Suit 3 of 16

We all know your sweet gentility is crystal clear, menfolk. Still, save this striped number for Dapper Day.

  • Frilly Cravat 4 of 16
    Captain Hook

While no one can deny Captain Hook has a strong sense of personal style, wearing something that looks like it could do double duty as a coffee filter is a no-no.

  • Guyliner 5 of 16
    Captain Jack Sparrow

Only Captain Jack Sparrow can manage to look this cool in kohl day and night. Savvy, smoky eye-lovers?

  • Glass Slipper 6 of 16

Not the best idea for all the obvious reasons.

  • Fur Coat 7 of 16
    Cruella De Vil

Leave the fur on the animals, okay?

  • No Pants 8 of 16
    Donald Duck

ALWAYS WEAR THEM. In public anyway.

  • Plunging Necklines 9 of 16

Let's leave something to the imagination, shall we?

  • Harem Pants 10 of 16

Not even M.C. Hammer can make these work. Had he added a fez...

  • Man Tights 11 of 16
    Peter Pan

Skinny jeans is pushing it as it is, gents.

  • The Loincloth 12 of 16

Vegan? Yes. Safe for work? No.

  • Unitards 13 of 16
    The Incredibles

Spanx is as close as we should get to anything this skintight, people. All I'm saying.

  • Cow Print 14 of 16

Everyone else okay with letting this look ride off into the sunset? Good.

  • Overalls 15 of 16
    Wreck It Ralph

Ah, the one-strap overall look. Brings back (bad) memories for folks of a certain age.

  • Elizabethan Collars 16 of 16

You do realize it's just a fancified cone of shame, right?
