11 Attractions to Visit at Disney World … According to Our Favorite Characters

With somewhere in the ballpark of 100 attractions at Walt Disney World Resort, it can be difficult to decide which attraction to ride next. If your family is like  mine, then you probably head into the parks each day with a list of favorites and a plan for what to do if you have any extra time. And then if you’re like us, you ride Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin four times in a row and never make it across Magic Kingdom to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

The next time I travel to Walt Disney World, I’m going with a new plan. I’m going to ask, “What Would Mickey Do?”

Why not head into the parks with a list of Disney character’s favorite Walt Disney World attractions and use that to help you make devise a touring plan? You may be surprised by some of their selections. Those Disney characters always keeps us guessing! Here you’ll find 11 favorite Walt Disney World characters and their selections for the best attraction at Walt Disney World.

  • Disney Characters’ Favorite Walt Disney World Attractions 1 of 12
Disney Characters' Favorite Walt Disney World Attractions

Ever looked at your park map and asked yourself, "What would Mickey do?" Now you can find out!

  • Buzz Lightyear: Astro Orbiter 2 of 12
Disney Characters' Favorite Walt Disney World Attractions

I know you probably thought that Buzz's favorite ride would be the one named for him, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, but the truth is that he likes to sneak across Tomorrowland and ride Astro Orbiter. Once in awhile Buzz likes a break from fighting the Evil Emperor Zurg so he can just fly a rocket in circles.

  • Jessie and Woody: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 3 of 12
Disney Characters' Favorite Walt Disney World Attractions

Woody and Jessie love being toys, but they've secretly always wanted to be heroes of the Wild West. Their favorite attraction at Walt Disney World is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which they love to ride while pretending to save the runaway train and all of its passengers.

  • Baloo: Country Bear Jamboree 4 of 12
Disney Characters' Favorite Walt Disney World Attractions

One of my favorite Disney characters is Baloo the bear, who happens to agree with me with his favorite attraction at Walt Disney World: Country Bear Jamboree.  Lots of guests skip right over this classic Magic Kingdom gem, but it's on our must-see list every time! I couldn't get Baloo to confirm this, but I also suspect he has a crush on Trixie.

  • Carl: Hall of Presidents 5 of 12
Disney Characters' Favorite Walt Disney World Attractions

Carl claims to love Hall of Presidents in the Magic Kingdom more than any other Walt Disney World attraction because of his love of history. I suspect that what he really enjoys is a chance to force Russell to sit down so he can get a break and maybe even catch some Z's.

  • Jack Sparrow: Magic Carpets of Aladdin 6 of 12
Disney Characters' Favorite Walt Disney World Attractions

Captain Jack surprised me with his selection because his own ride is right around the corner, but his favorite is the Magic Carpets of Aladdin. He confessed that he heard rumors of unlimited treasure and wealth in the Cave of Wonders, and he hopes that the magic carpets will take him there.

  • Iago: Enchanted Tiki Room 7 of 12
Disney Characters' Favorite Walt Disney World Attractions

Like all the people everywhere, Iago agrees that The Enchanted Tiki Room is much better now that it has been restored to its original goodness. With the pressure to manage the place removed from his shoulders, he's able to sit back and enjoy the show.

  • Stitch: Journey into Imagination with Figment 8 of 12
Disney Characters' Favorite Walt Disney World Attractions

Poor Stitch always feels guilty for being such a cute little trouble maker. Riding Figment's Journey Into Imagination is a playful reminder to Stitch that other Disney characters get into just as many pickles as he does.

  • The Trolls from Frozen: Maelstrom 9 of 12
Disney Characters' Favorite Walt Disney World Attractions

Fans of Frozen may think that this film contains the first ever Disney trolls, but those trolls know better. When they're visiting Walt Disney World, they head to EPCOT to ride Maelstrom, a high seas Norwegian adventure. While navigating the churning waters, they get to visit with some of their troll pals. And who doesn't love that backwards drop over the falls?

  • Donald Duck: Muppet Vision 3D 10 of 12
Disney Characters' Favorite Walt Disney World Attractions

Like Stitch, Donald Duck tends to be blamed for everything that goes wrong around him. For years people have been laughing at Donald during Mickey's PhilharMagic, watching him get scolded by Mickey and an orchestra full of angry instruments. He loves to pop over to Hollywood Studios to watch Muppet Vision 3D, a chance to enjoy a 3D film where he's not the cause of the chaos!

  • Sulley: Expedition Everest 11 of 12
Disney Characters' Favorite Walt Disney World Attractions

Life can be tough when you're a big, furry monster, and no one knows that better than Sulley. Sometimes he just wants to connect with his kind, so he loves to ride Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom to say hi to the Yeti. It's a chance for Sulley to check in on another member of the Monster World.

  • Mickey Mouse: Dumbo the Flying Elephant 12 of 12
Disney Characters' Favorite Walt Disney World Attractions

And now the answer you've all been waiting for ... what is Mickey Mouse's favorite attraction at Walt Disney World?

The answer is: Dumbo the Flying Elephant!

Most people believe that Dumbo is all about an elephant, but Mickey knows that there would be no Dumbo if it weren't for Timothy the Mouse, just like there'd be no Walt Disney World if it weren't for Mickey.

    Good choice, old pal.
