Disney Junior Announces Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Never Land Rescue

Never Land Rescue | BabbleWhen Never Land begins to disappear, Jake must go on his most heroic mission ever — with Tinker Bell! — to save the magical land in Disney Junior’s Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Never Land Rescue.

In the latest storyline dreamed up by Disney Junior, the focus is on Never Land’s ancient Forever Tree. As it starts fading, a mysterious figure known as “The Guardian” arrives to explain that only the pirate who truly believes in himself can save Never Land from vanishing. Forever.

The all-new prime time special will premiere on September 29 on Disney Channel (6:00 p.m., ET/PT) and Disney Junior (7:00 p.m., ET/PT).

What’s more, starting September 20, kids and their parents can log on to DisneyJunior.com/GiveATree to designate one of four geographical locations for the National Wildlife Federation – they partnered up with Disney Junior – to plant a tree!

“Jake’s Never Land Rescue,” a collection of four mini-game missions, is being released in conjunction with the special as well. Each game encourages kids to help Jake on his quest to save Never Land and will be available on DisneyJunior.com/NeverlandRescue starting August 30. One new mini-game will roll out each week.

And following the premiere, Disney Junior will debut a new animated short — Mama Hook Knows Best.

Starring the voice of Sharon Osbourne as Captain Hook’s exuberant mother, the short follows Mama Hook as she offers words of advice to her son on being a good pirate. A breakout character since her debut episode in May 2012, Mama Hook has won the hearts of young viewers and their parents and also inspired the children’s book, Mama Hook Knows Best: A Pirate Parent’s Favorite Fables, which will be released as a hardcover book and e-book by Disney Publishing on September 17.
