“So I think my wife and I enjoy Disney’s Frozen soundtrack more than our daughter, but I’ll let you all be the judge of that.”
That is the description for the YouTube clip entitled, “Good Looking Parents Sing Disney’s Frozen (Love is an Open Door).” Yes, the two are good looking and they are spot-on with their lip synching to Kristen Bell and Santino Fontana from the family film of the year nay, the decade. But they aren’t the ones who steal the show.
In the backseat their daughter sits, flipping through a book and grabbing her sippy cup, seemingly totally unimpressed and uninterested in her parent’s antics in the front seat. I could not keep my eyes off of her. Most viewers would have thought this soundtrack was played for her benefit, but it appears, that it’s actually for the parents. You know what this proves, something that I have known for a while, that Frozen is beloved by parents as much the kids, and in some cases even more.
There are some facts to back up the love that parents (and adults in general) have for this movie. Recently Frozen crossed the $1 billion dollar mark, not only becoming the top-grossing original animated film of all time but is one of two animated films to cross the billion dollar mark the other being Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story 3. It also snagged the Best Original Song Oscar earlier this month. These two things are not child’s play. This is some serious success, success that can only come from a family friendly project that speaks to both parent and child.
