Prep Yourself for the “Richard M. Sherman and Alan Menken: The Disney Songbook” Concert

D23My family and I are attending the D23 Expo: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this year, and, as usual, it promises to be awesome. That’s just how D23 does things. However, there is a special event this time around that is going to officially raise the bar, and awesome will never be the same again. Disney legends Richard M. Sherman and Alan Menken are going to perform together at the D23 Expo Arena in the Anaheim Convention Center for one night only—Saturday, August 10, and you might want to get in line now.

I’m not kidding, the line is going to be crazy.

“Richard M. Sherman and Alan Menken: The Disney Songbook” concert brings together two musicians with a combined 10 Academy Awards for Disney works, songs from over three dozen Disney feature films, two dozen Disney Parks attractions, and half a dozen Disney musicals on Broadway—basically, they have been the better part of the Disney soundtrack for a very long time, and now they are going to share it with the fans. LIVE!

You may think you know their entire collective canon, but that’s a lot of music. I have included some videos below to help you prepare yourself for the concert. I’m a giver.

This one only has a bit of the Sherman brothers, but it’s pretty great:

Seriously, this is the best, right?

Admission to the concert is included in the price of D23 Expo admission, and at the time of this post tickets were still available.

What are you favorite Disney songs from Sherman or Menken?
